The details that matter most

1. Where the property is. A narrow city lot in the Old West End, a newer subdivision near Perrysburg and a rural parcel outside Wauseon come with different soil, drainage and truck access, so the location alone answers several questions before anyone arrives.
2. What you want and about how large. Maybe a driveway that needs widening, a patio off the kitchen, a front stoop with a walk, a garage or pole barn floor, or replacement of concrete that has cracked, flaked or sunk. Approximate length and width are enough.
3. What will use it. Only cars, or also a pickup, camper, boat trailer, tractor, hot tub or shop equipment. Heavier use changes the base, the thickness and the reinforcement.
4. What covers the spot today. Lawn, gravel, old concrete or asphalt. If something has to be broken out and hauled away first, that becomes part of the scope.

Pictures that help

Stand back far enough to fit the entire work area into one frame, so the grade, fences and nearby trees all show. Add close views of any cracks, flaking, sunken panels or broken edges.
